Beyond Rare, Boundless Care

On Feb 28, the 18 th International Rare Disease Day, Tongmeng (Lao) Pharmaceutical (TLPH) partnered with the Lao Red Cross Society to launch the initiative **Beyond Rare, Boundless Care**, donating a 100-month supply of **Macitentan and Tadalafil** to patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). The effort aligns with this year’s global theme **"More Than Rare"**, emphasizing equal care for all and calling for broader societal support for rare disease communities.  

This follows Tongmeng (Lao) Pharmaceutical (TLPH) 2024 collaboration with the Lao Ministry of Health in the China-Laos Joint Thalassemia Diagnosis Program. Through this new initiative, the company reaffirms its commitment to improving healthcare access for underserved patients.  

"Rare diseases often go unseen, but the struggles of patients in Laos cannot be ignored," said a Tongmeng representative. "We stand with the Lao Red Cross and health authorities to amplify awareness and action."  

Discussions during the event also explored future projects, including:  

- **Mitotane** therapy for adrenal cortical carcinoma (ACC).  

- **Odevixibat** for rare cholestatic liver diseases.  

Tongmeng (Lao) Pharmaceutical, established in 2013, focuses on producing affordable medicines and supporting health initiatives in Laos. It has participated in multiple cross-border medical programs, including drug donations and disease awareness campaigns.
